By integrating sustainability into our core values, we aim to inspire a transformative shift across the packaging industry and beyond. Our dedication to using recyclable materials, reducing waste, and promoting green technologies reflects our unwavering resolve to protect the Earth.

Let us all unite on this pivotal day to renew our commitment to the environment. Together, we can create a future where economic growth and environmental preservation go hand in hand. Migi Chuang , Co-Founder of Togopool

Our commitment to sustainability is deeply ingrained in our approach. By promoting both carpooling and bike pooling, we aim to reduce the number of vehicles on the road, thereby decreasing carbon emissions and contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment. Our platform is designed to make carpooling and bike pooling convenient, safe, and accessible, encouraging more people to choose shared rides over individual journeys. This not only helps in lowering traffic congestion but also significantly reduces the ecological footprint of daily commutes. We believe that small, collective actions can lead to substantial environmental benefits. We are dedicated to continuously innovating and enhancing our services to support a more sustainable future. We envision a world where sustainable transportation choices are the norm, and we are proud to play a part in making that vision a reality. Together, we can drive positive change and pave the way for a greener planet.

As World Environment Day 2024 unfolds, UFlex reaffirms its commitment to pioneering innovation-driven, sustainable packaging solutions. With a targeted aim to achieve net-zero status by 2035, we continue our decades-long dedication to environmental stewardship. Since the early 1990s, this commitment has been woven into our corporate fabric, shaping our strategies and initiatives. Anantshree Chaturvedi, Vice Chairman and CEO of Flex Films International, underscores the imperative of collective action in combating plastic pollution, highlighting the dichotomy of ‘Planet vs Plastics’. At UFlex, we believe in the harmonization of environmental protection and economic prosperity, recognizing that they are not mutually exclusive but rather mutually reinforcing. Embracing the mantra of ‘Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, and Return to Earth’, we champion a comprehensive approach to plastic waste management through initiatives like ‘Project Plastic Fix’. Our portfolio showcases a range of eco-friendly products, from low-carbon footprint films to water-based inks, designed to minimize environmental impact. Through initiatives like ‘Asclepius’, which utilizes post-consumer PET waste to manufacture green packaging films, and our global recycling plants, we strive to close the loop on plastic waste, demonstrating our unwavering dedication to a sustainable future. As we confront the pressing challenges of our time, it is incumbent upon organizations to take proactive measures in safeguarding our planet. There is no alternative to Earth, and thus, we must act decisively today to ensure a viable tomorrow for generations to come.

By Navin Jaju, CEO, Vedanta Sesa Goa

Vedanta Sesa Goa has a deep commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. The Sanquelim Mine Reclamation programme has helped restore and enhance the biodiversity of the region, attracting a rich array of flora and fauna by selectively cutting mature Acacia plants and planting native species from the Western Ghats.
The vision extended beyond restoration; and helped transform the area into a vibrant ecotourism destination. Projects like the Butterfly Park, Aromatic Garden, Bamboo & Rattan Arboretum, and the Bamboo Pavilion today offer unique experiences and serve as centers for environmental and social programs. Additionally, the Bird Watching Center was also created to provide enthusiasts with the opportunity to observe and appreciate the local avian species.
In collaboration with the National Institute of Oceanography, exhausted mine pit at Sanquelim has been transformed into thriving Pisciculture pond, promoting the cultivation of Rahu, Mrigal, and Carp. This initiative supports local consumption and demonstrates the multifaceted value that can be derived from rehabilitated mining areas. The Sanquelim mine project is an example of how exhausted mines, when planned thoughtfully, can be transformed into ecotourism spots, setting a benchmark for sustainable post-mining land use reiterating Vedanta Sesa Goa’s dedication to creating a positive environmental and social impact, making a lasting difference in the community.
