Kal Ke Krorepati Launches in Gujarat, Raises Rs. 15 Crores for Startups

In a groundbreaking event, the inaugural chapter of “Kal Ke Krorepati” (KKK) was launched in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Tuesday. The initiative, spearheaded by actor and entrepreneur Suniel Shetty, aims to spotlight and support India’s burgeoning startup ecosystem. The Gujarat Chapter kickstarts the series, with plans to replicate the model across other states.

“Kal Ke Krorepati stands as a unique amalgamation of startups, VC funds, and investors, transcending mere fundraising endeavors to embrace a comprehensive approach aimed at fostering substantial economic growth,” said a representative of the initiative.

The first chapter invited 500 startups from Gujarat to submit their proposals, leading to the selection of 27 promising ventures spanning various industries. Each startup had the opportunity to present a succinct 3-minute live pitch before a panel of nine venture capital funds and investors.

In a surprising turn of events, the first season of Kal Ke Krorepati has already received expressions of interest (EOI) totaling around 15 crores from investors on the show. This substantial investment is currently being facilitated for select startups, highlighting the attractiveness of Gujarat’s innovative endeavors to prominent investment entities.

Milapsinh Jadeja, Founder, Entrepreneur, and Angel Investor, expressed confidence in the concept, stating, “Kal Ke Krorepati’s potential to invigorate Gujarat’s startup ecosystem and the broader Indian entrepreneurial landscape is remarkable.”

Bollywood luminary, entrepreneur, and investor Suniel Shetty, who graced the curtain-raising event, emphasized the significance of nurturing fresh ideas and fostering a collaborative community conducive to economic advancement. “Kal Ke Krorepati represents a commendable endeavor to cultivate a thriving ecosystem of startups and investors, thereby contributing meaningfully to economic development,” remarked Mr. Shetty.

The initiative, poised to contribute substantially to economic progress, aims to unlock novel opportunities across diverse sectors, including technology, education, travel, healthcare, and hospitality.
