First Government Hospital-Based Medical Incubation Centre Opens in Greater Noida
The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the first public hospital-based medical incubation centre in Uttar Pradesh. This groundbreaking initiative aims to revolutionize healthcare innovation by providing a robust platform for medical startups and researchers to develop cutting-edge solutions.
The new Medical Incubation Centre, developed in partnership with Stanford University’s Biodesign, promises to foster collaboration and drive advancements that will transform patient care and the overall healthcare ecosystem. “Inauguration of ‘Centre of Medical Incubation GIMS’ is on 1st June, 2024, at 12:30 PM at GIMS by Chief Guest Dr. Atul Goel, Director General of Health Services,” read the official statement from GIMS.
The incubator at GIMS is set to enhance accessibility to clinical mentoring, validation testing, and much more, driving medical innovation to new heights. This initiative is supported by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, leveraging GIMS’ resources to introduce passionate individuals and budding entrepreneurs to the vibrant startup ecosystem at the Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI) at GIMS.

GIMS, an autonomous tertiary care institute of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is on a mission to provide affordable health services to all sections of society. The institute has been at the forefront of providing excellent professional medical education and multi-disciplinary research. National and International Recognition
GIMS’ startups have gained national and international recognition. During the groundbreaking ceremony hosted by the Uttar Pradesh government in Lucknow, one startup was selected in the AI Hub category, while seven others were chosen for the Stanford Byers Centre for Biodesign’s Founders Forum and Innovators Garage categories. At the Mahakumbh organized at Pragati Maidan, Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, two startups, Easiofy and TSW Drones, were selected to represent GIMS at the state pavilion and eight at the startup pavilion. The GIMS incubation centre was the only public hospital-based incubation centre at Mahakumbh, supported by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) – Government of India.
