DrinkPrime Secures $3 Million Investment Led by SIDBI Venture Capital to Expand Clean Water Access
DrinkPrime, a pioneering D2C water purifier brand leveraging reverse osmosis (RO) technology, has successfully secured a $3 million investment in its latest funding round. The round was spearheaded by SIDBI Venture Capital Ltd. (SVCL), a subsidiary of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). This new infusion of capital also saw participation from several of DrinkPrime’s existing investors.
Founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Vijender Reddy and Manas Ranjan Hota, DrinkPrime is dedicated to providing affordable and safe drinking water. It does so through a unique subscription model utilizing Internet-of-Things (IoT)-enabled water purifiers, tailored to meet the needs of individual households. This innovative approach ensures that families have access to clean drinking water without the upfront cost and maintenance hassles associated with traditional purifiers.
Currently, DrinkPrime offers its services to over 200,000 families across seven major cities in India. The company’s model not only simplifies the process of getting clean water but also addresses critical environmental concerns by reducing plastic waste commonly associated with bottled water.
The latest funding will help DrinkPrime accelerate its expansion plans as it prepares for a Series B fundraising round. The additional capital will support broader geographic expansion and further technological enhancements of its product offerings.
DrinkPrime’s unique position in the market, especially with its IoT-enabled systems, sets it apart from competitors such as Livpure, Acquaguard, and ZunPure. Its subscription model addresses both affordability and quality, making it a preferred choice for many households in urban areas.
